The MYP Toolkit

The programme combines informative sessions, hands-on activities, and a showcase to encourage collaboration and creative thinking among the pupils. It’s a well-rounded approach to fostering entrepreneurial skills and business understanding.

09:50 amKeynote from local employer – talking about their organisation, their place in the city, the range of careers they support, and their partners.

10:25 amPupils get into groups and choose a sector active in the city, or perhaps one they would like to see. This could be anything that interests them – football, retail, music, cruise ships, education, history, etc. They carry out research and build a profile of the sector locally.
11:05 amPupils develop customer profiles and consider what else those customers might be interested in. They map customer journeys and explore gaps and opportunities to enrich the journey by developing business ideas
12:00 pmLunch and tour of the Future Towns Innovation Hu
12:45 pmPupils develop their ideas for products, services and initiatives based on their analysis of the mapping exercise, develop simple business plans to explore the feasibility of their ideas, and produce an output (e.g. poster, presentation, video, etc.).
